Warriors NRL boss Jim Doyle won't be drawn on reports that five of the six players banned from first grade and Test rugby league have admitted to mixing prescription drugs with energy drinks.

Kiwis Manu Vatuvei and Ben Matulino, as well as Bodene Thompson, Albert Vete, Sam Lisone and Konrad Hurrell were dropped for Sunday's match against St George Illawarra in Auckland.

The New Zealand Herald reported on Monday that Vatuvei, Matulino, Thompson, Lisone, and Vete admitted to the club that they had mixed prescription drugs and energy drinks after the Warriors' 42-0 Anzac Day loss to Melbourne.

Doyle confirmed the club's position on the players who were disciplined last week.

"We're continuing to deal with this internally, focusing on player welfare. We won't be going into any details and we won't be making any further comment," he said in a statement.
